History of The Hallelujah

The "Hallelujah" is a one day Christian festival.
It is held the first Saturday in October. The event is free to the public.
The "Hallelujah" has many attractions such as:
a parade through downtown Manchester, car show, booths,
food, pony rides, petting zoo, fireworks, and great gospel music.
There is a main stage that the festival centers around and great Christian music is being performed all day.
We hope that you come and join us and spend two days worshiping a
God who is worthy to be worshiped!

The Past:

The "Hallelujah" originated from Agape Unlimited, Inc. A group of lay people served as the Board of Directors to minister to the needs of Clay County. They started a clothing store, jail ministry, and a twenty-four hour prayer line through Agape Unlimited. The "Hallelujah" was not part of the original plan of Agape Unlimited; but, soon after, God moved these individuals to organize it. The idea behind the event was to unite the body of christ and to be a witness to all of Kentucky. The first "Hallelujah", which was originally called a "Praise Gathering", was held in 1979 at the city walking park. They estimated around 600 people attended. After the first year the "Hallelujah" boomed. Year after year larger crowds were gathering. It drew people from several different states in the last few years of the all day Christian festival there were crowds estimated around 20,000.
At one time the "Hallelujah" was billed as the largest U.S., one day, free Christian festival.
The "Hallelujah" ended in 1989 due to shortage of workers.

Yahweh Ministries, Inc. was formed in August, 2001, for the sole purpose of re-establishing the "Hallelujah". Early in 2003, a group of individuals bcame together through prayer and concern for Clay County. The first "Hallelujah" since 1989, was held on October 4, 2003. Yahweh Ministries felt that Clay County needed taken back for Jesus Christ. They knew that this was the perfect venue to use for born again believers of
Clay County to come together and take a stand for Christ.

When it seemed "Hallelujah '07" was not going to happen, Hallelujah Ministries, Inc. was formed in the Spring of 2007, with the Hallelujah Festival as it's primary goal. Hallelujah '07 was held on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Ramsey Ball Park.

The Present:

Hallelujah '10 will be held at Rawlings Stinson Park on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The outlook of Hallelujah Ministries, Inc. is:

Building on the Past... "but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13b-14" ... Heading to the Future.

The Future:

The "Hallelujah" is more than a festival with a parade, gospel singing, fireworks, booths, car show, and games. It is a spiritual battle for out County. In a world of moral decline, we must take a stand against Satan, because he is taking a stand against Christians. We, as Christians, need to stand for Jesus, because He first stood for us on a hill call Mt. Calvary.
